‘Om Shanti Om’

‘Om Shanti Om’ was Deepika’s debut movie in Bollywood. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that her look in the movie brought back the fashion of winged eyeliners, retro hairstyles and she looked every bit the beauty straight from yesteryears in the movie. She also donned a modern look in the movie for few scenes but was majorly seen in the retro look and looked really beautiful.


‘Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se’

‘Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se’ was a period movie set in 1930 the era before independence. The actress was seen wearing cotton sarees in the movie with two braids and almost no make-up. The actress looked very much from that era in the movie and fit the role and character flawlessly.





‘Chennai Express’

It is actually amazing the way the actress fits in varied roles with so much ease. In ‘Chennai Express’ Deepika donned a look of the South Indian girl and looked a typical South Indian beauty wearing south Indian sarees, or skirt and blouse outfits, jhumkas, nose stud, colourful bangles and simple side braids with gajra.

In all these movies Deepika was seen playing the characters of a modern diva, hence all her looks in the movie were ultra-modern and stylish. However, few details like the hairstyles were different for the movies. But mostly it was a mix of modern and traditional.



In the movie ‘Piku’ where Deepika played the role of a Bengali girl, the actress was seen in a totally different avatar. She was an independent working woman, who was working and taking care of her father. Her looks kept changing in the movie but her kohled eyes and bindi look, teamed with cotton kurtas and comfortable palazzos with loose hair was much loved and followed by the girls.


‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela – RamLeela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’

The actress slew it with her beautiful royal looks way back when the posters from the movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’ were released. Donning a big and beautiful Nath, the actress looked royal and beautiful.

In the movie ‘RamLeela’ too the actress was seen in Ghaghra Choli that is commonly worn in Gujarat. The jewellery, hairdo and the makeup were just perfect to keep the look just apt for the role she was playing.
